Why we return a few days later after the summer holidays ...

Today’s Daily Telegraph has the following article, headed “Should I take my child out of school to go on a cheap holiday"?”

Parents at IGS: Durham don’t have that problem, or not to the same extent anyway.

Michaelmas Term this year begins on 14th September, several days later than most other schools. Why? It’s very simple. We aim to be an affordable private school. Our fees reflect that (currently £3,300 per year). If by enabling parents to take advantage of cheaper holidays and travel, we can make our fees even more affordable, we’re delighted.

So - if you go on that holiday to a well-known provider of family holidays (referred to in the article) and save £1,000, we reckon that makes our fees about £2,300!
