We were kindly given permission by Durham University to make use of two of their disused tennis courts within the grounds of the College of St Hild’s and St Bede’s. However, they needed cleaning up first.
We knew it was going to be a big job and Mr Fell offered to assist with some heavy duty machinery. We enlisted a H&S professional to help with the risk assessments and method statements and, once approved by the University, we went ahead last Sunday.
A few parents, and all available members of the school board, came along to help on the day. Unfortunately, rain stopped play and we were only able to get one of the two courts completed. We are sure you will agree the end results look amazing!
The children are looking forward to playing tennis and football here in the very near future.
