As we announced last week (see below), we are delighted to be able to say that our application to register The Independent Grammar School: Durham has been successful and we will now be opening the school as planned on 17th September. This is great news – thank you all for your patience!
The next step will be an open evening on Tuesday 12th June at the school, starting at 7.00 pm with coffee and tea served from 6.45. We will then repeat the event a week later on Wednesday 20th June at the same time. All interested parents are invited to attend one of these evenings, which will be an opportunity to hear more about the school, ask questions, have a tour of the building and, if you wish to do so, to enrol your child(ren).
Enrolment will involve completing a simple form and paying a £50 enrolment fee. Places are offered on a first-come-first served basis. As you know, the date of receipt of your expression of interest will be deemed to be the date of your application as soon as you confirm your application and pay the fee. We have set a deadline of 30th June for confirmations to be received and we will then allocate places according to either the date of your expression of interest or of your application.
Parents may apply for a place without attending the open evenings, although it would be good to see as many of you there as possible. If you are unable to attend, but would like to apply, please contact us (principal@igsdurham.com) and we will send you an application form.
Although all parents are welcome to attend the open evenings without booking a place, it would be very helpful if you could let us know whether you are planning to attend.
